The Real Thing in Asian Comics.

I have read endless comics and novels but they all are the same. No matter the author or creator. Everything ends up at the same cross ends. Unless the author is writing about a completely different genre.
Some of the comics I have really loved and grown along with but in the end, they give the same stereotypical girl ends up with the guy ending. Never have I seen the girl becoming free of all the ties and just a starting on her own, independent and bold. Maybe this term does not exist in the comic dictionaries.
Most of the mangas, manhwa, and Chinese comics I have read are based on a rich man and poor girl plot. Sometimes I wonder if these guys have just plagiarized each other's writings. How does every story end up having a docile and submissive poor girl? The girl usually has abusive parents or is an orphan. The guy character is usually a rich CEO who is cold-hearted tsundere. He is abusive and cold towards the main female lead but has all the time to flirt around with other girls. And the story is not complete if the entire town's female is dying to marry him. Each one makes the life of the female lead miserable as if it was not already. In the end, the guy ends up loving the girl out of pity or sympathy or maybe admiration that she is different than the others. These girls are usually skinny and they guys are muscular. The entire story revolves around patriarch, misogyny, male domination, gender and body stereotypes, and body shaming.
Has no author even seen a plus size man or woman? Have they not seen an independent woman and meek men? Have they not seen rich women and poor men? Do they not know of any other occupation other than a CEO or a president or chairman of a big fake company.
Who are these authors writhing these stories for? Is the audience only little teen girls who constantly dream of marrying a rich guy and becoming a wife?
If this is what the teens are thinking about then how is this system still working? Why are the girls trying so hard to thrive in the market? Why are the men giving up their jobs and working from home to take care of their kids or just because they want to?
When will the authors look at the REAL PICTURE? We are living in reality. The comics are a relief where we want out dreams to come true. Don’t make us dream unreal realities.
Many readers rely on comics for escaping their realities. Tyr to heal them if you can. At least try to tell them to be strong. Show them how to keep going on no matter what troubles they face. Show them rich or poor, one can still work on themselves.
Isn't this the reason you made your characters? The characters are the embodiment of the readers. When the character goes through something the readers go through it as well.
If the character fights back the reader does too.
I just wonder if there is someone out there who is thinking of a plot and is not taking pity on. Because we do not need your pity. We are happy the way we are with all our imperfections. Do not try to think that only if we change our selves will we get everything we want. We are working harder than the privileged ones to achieve our goals and we will not stop unless it's here.
If this is what the children can learn through your comics. Imagine the great work you guys would be doing!

Suspicious Partner- K-Drama

The drama aired in May 2017 and had 4o episodes. It was quite big for a normal drama but was worth it. The cast was the well known Hallyu star Ji Chang Wook along with Nam Ji Hyun. Choi Tae Joon and Kwon Nara were the side characters. I FELL FOR THE VILLIAN. No kidding. More than the main leads, the villain's acting was superb. He was the perfect psychopath I had ever seen. This drama is one of the best crime - thriller ever made. (Point of view from an outsider.)   BONG HEE: Let's take a moment to appreciate Nam Ji Hyun's visuals. Her part as Bong Hee is the best one so far. She is so consistent in the drama that it is cute. Also knows Taekwondo. Which is new. It is rare to see girls in kdrama as some athlete persons unless the drama is based on that theme. Her struggles are real as well- being a lawyer charged with murder and stuff. Sometimes one feels pity for her. However, the character in the drama is portrayed as super naïve and innocent to the point that sometimes sh...

The Lost Art

I was introduced to the world of spirituality and healing after I turned 20. I have always been a firm believer in supernatural beings and the divinity; however, I do not support idol worship. I believe there is a central power responsible for the working of this universe and it can be moulded in any clay with any name and any religion a human desires. The world of spirituality, however, is always confused with that of religion. There is no such relation between the two. One can be spiritual and non-religious. I developed this distinction between them last January when I met with a Brazilian spiritual healer. She explained to me the difference between the two with much ease. She also opened me to the cosmic world and its energies. "The easiest and surest way to tap into the cosmic energy around you is Intuition" she explained. Her way of reading the intuition was through Zen stones and stone charms. She used this intuition to help herself and others who asked for her ad...

An Idea to Believe In

Kunal has always been a restless child. Studying for him was something he never planned on to do. So even after graduating from high school and giving his board examination, he didn't plan on doing engineering. Unlike his elder brother who did engineering got a job in an MNC and is settled abroad with a ransom salary, Kunal was nothing compared to him. At the age of 18, he declared at home that he is quitting his engineering coaching. Engineering and Medical coaching is a trend in a small industrial town like Jamshedpur. With the literacy rate of 99 %, Jamshedpur boasts a high number of students enrolling into medical and engineering colleges. The situation has become so intense that 8 out of 10 students will opt for one of the two. Kunal wasn't interested in the trend, he enrolled for a diploma and said he wanted to do something of his own. So he did. He is one of the local entrepreneurs the city has seen. Even though Jamshedpur is an industrial city and very few entreprene...
